Insulation, Slope & Membrane In One Rebuild
Combo roofing rebuilds the whole cross-section — thermal layer, slope, screed, waterproof membrane and finished surface as one engineered package.

One System. Three Scopes. Zero Gaps Between Them.
The cheapest failures in roofing are not materials — they are the interfaces between trades. Combo systems close those interfaces by design.
Most UAE roof problems start at a scope boundary: where the screed contractor left, the waterproofing contractor began, and nobody engineered the joint. Combo roofing exists to delete that boundary — waterproofing, insulation and finish are specified together, sequenced together, and tested together before handover. Our combined projects show the discipline: IFFCO Emigrain and IFFCO ERCO combined renewal with insulation on live factory sites.
The Combo Build-Up
| Layer | Function | Typical spec |
|---|---|---|
| Structure / existing deck | Load-bearing (verified) | Inspected, cracks treated, falls corrected |
| Waterproofing layer | The leak barrier | EPDM details + field membrane system |
| Thermal insulation | Heat protection | Per project (see insulation) |
| Protection / screed | Service base | Screed or paver pedestals |
| Finish | Final surface | Tiles / reflective coating per design |
Combo vs The Alternatives
Combo wins when insulation and finish upgrades are already on the client's list — doing waterproofing at the same time is nearly free at that point. Detail-first waterproofing wins when only leaks are the problem, since treating parapets, laps and pedestals correctly costs a fraction of a full buildup. Full re-roofing wins when structural sheets or screed are truly finished. Our survey quotes the comparison as scope lines, so you can see which logic applies to your roof instead of being sold one product blindly.

- Insulation-only route: water tank insulation and cool roof coatings.
Combo Roofing FAQs
A single-buildup system where waterproofing, thermal insulation and the final roof finish (screed or tiles) are engineered together and installed in one coordinated sequence — instead of three separate trades working independently, which is how most UAE roofs end up with gaps between scopes.
Combo fits when the existing buildup is being rebuilt anyway: New-build extensions, terraces undergoing major renovation, roofs where insulation is required but absent. If the structure and buildup are sound, targeted waterproofing of details (ours) costs far less. If sheets/screed are at end-of-life outright, full re-roofing is the comparison. The survey decides honestly.
Yes — thermal insulation is a built-in layer, which is the main reason owners choose it for occupied buildings. Insulation options and thickness are quoted per project; see our roof insulation services for the standalone equivalent.
It fixes leaks as a by-product — the entire buildup is new. But it is rarely the cheapest path for a pure leak problem: our wipe-out EPDM detail approach often solves leaks at a fraction of combo cost. Combo shines when you want the roof upgraded (heat, finish, structure) at the same time.
The waterproofing layer carries the 5-year warranty (extendable to 10 under maintenance). The finish layers carry their own respective guarantees; warranty documents are issued per layer at handover.
Yes — the combo buildup adds load, so building structure is checked before specification. On villas and industrial sheds this is routine; on older structures with questionable slabs our survey may recommend lighter systems (e.g. coatings-only roofs with external jackets).
