Waterproofing for Factories

Continuous production, phased roof works — process hazards respected, bays signed off daily.

Factory production hall interior — roof waterproofing must be phased around continuous operations

Kilns Do Not Pause

A factory roof scope earns its price only if production keeps its rhythm while the roof is repaired.

Factories concentrate the three hardest roof problems on one building: metal sheet systems at end-of-life (metal method), plant equipment bases and duct penetrations on the roof, and process constraints (dust, steam, heat) that limit both materials and access windows. Our factory protocol starts with a hazard map of the production side — top-floor and roof-level constraints agreed with your process engineer before works phasing is designed.

Factory-Specific Discipline

  1. Pre-work process hazard survey: extraction stacks, steam vents, kiln heat zones, hygiene boundaries, AHU/chiller access routes marked on the layout.
  2. Materials chosen for the process environment — cold-applied EPDM everywhere heat/spark rules make welding or torch work inappropriate.
  3. Bay phasing stays clear of the process areas with the highest sensitivity; shift-hours are agreed with production planning, not assumed (this is the core live-site method: protocol detail).
  4. Plant penetration treatment: EPDM throats + counter-flashings at every stack, duct, AHU base — not sealant smear.
  5. Daily bay sign-off with both the process-side and facilities-side supervisors; water-tightness verification precedes each bay closure.
  6. Handover file: datasheets, photos, warranty certificate — same standard as every other project.
Documented factory cases include Ittehad Paper Mills, Honda Pattern Shop, IFFCO ERCO and Lootah Premium Foods.

Factory FAQs

Yes, and it is the core industrial discipline — the same bay-by-bay protocol detailed on the warehouses sector page, adapted to process hazards (dust extraction, steam vents, kiln heat zones). Works engine behind Ittehad Paper Mills.

Permanently damp penetration zones around stacks and extractors get EPDM-throat details and counter-flashing; hot zones are surveyed with heat-clearance distances so no sealant sits in a direct kiln-exhaust path.

Works are done externally where possible; internal dust-cover protection and daily site clean downs keep the hygiene boundary intact. Documented: IFFCO Emigrain, Lootah Premium Foods.

The survey includes plant bases and duct penetrations: flashing at equipment feet is one of the top three leak sources in factories alongside laps and gutters. See the metal roof method.

No hot work is assumed by default — mechanical fastening and cold-applied EPDM systems remove the spark risk. Where unavoidable (weld corrections), permit-to-work is raised with your safety team first.

Standard 5-year documented warranty, daily sign-off per bay, extendable to 10 years under the maintenance option — see the warranty framework.
